A smaller field for the Hawkesbury Crown this year, but still a few quality mares engaged. Early speed from IRITHEA and MANICURE with perhaps AEECEE TONG DE moving up too (tempo: FAIR to STEADY). IRITHEA looked strong at the trials and resumed with a very good 2nd to White Moss over 1200m, she just needs to hold that mark and bring her best form to Hawkesbury (has failed here) to be hard to beat. MANICURE right there on the ratings too coming back from the G1 Coolmore to this and PECANS is very strong fresh at this track. A small gap back in the ratings to the in-form MULTAJA (prefers wet?) and ZUMBELINA (stuck wide fresh). [updated 9:08am]
