Not the easiest race on paper over 2000m. Early speed from the Waterhouse duo SCHOLARLY and ULUSABA (tempo: FAIR to STEADY) and COSTELLO shouldn't be too far off from the good barrier. David Payne's COSTELLO ticks a lot of boxes here, 2000m on a drier track ideal, but he does go up 2.5kg as a 4yo now (loses 3yo weight relief). NAHUEL also has upside and can improve sharply third-up to 2000m. Otherwise there is a mixed bag of chances; SCHOLARLY and ULUSABA in the right spot, DESERT PATH capable of running on late, MISSYBEEL down in the weights and HOGMANAY forever teasing punters.
