Not an easy race to read over 1400m, early speed from CRADLE MOUNTAIN and FABRIZIO, with SEAWAY, WREN'S DAY and SPECIAL MISSILE trying to get a spot near the pace. WREN'S DAY won a trial and does have a G1 2nd to Cracksman on the resume, but he is no sure thing, a tough on-pace type that may need the run so check the yard (not a brilliant type like Avilius). CRADLE MOUNTAIN another risky galloper that could either win or knock-up (likes to get control). SEAWAY (found good rhythm last start) and BANGKOK are solid each-way hopes. FIRSTHAND well-placed if he can find old form and GIRL TUESDAY right in the race after turning things around last prep (trials fine). Even FABRIZIO (can run well fresh 1400m on dry) and PATRICK ERIN (4th to Winx fresh last time in) could do something. [updated 8:42am]
