Yard to the Post @ Rosehill Gardens
Race Day: Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 04 June 2016
Wet trackers and apprentice riders dominated in Sydney's west on a cold and windy day at Rosehill Gardens.
Koby Jennings rode a career best four city winners on a Saturday, including the talented Redoute's Choice filly RAVI in Race 2 who came from an almost hopeless position to swoop home late and catch the brave NOBLE JOEY. Later in the day he guided KELLYVILLE FLYER home at the big odds of $11 before starting off the quaddie legs with the Waller galloper SO WILLIE at $16.
Deanne Panya then took over, winning Race 7 by a big margin on Bjorn Baker's SEBRINA and Race 8 on FOREIGN PRINCE, leading from start to finish on both. SEBRINA's win was the best of the day and she has the scope to improve further next start.
A quiet day in the betting ring, punters got it right in Race 4 with the short-priced MARENOSTRO proving too strong in the wet. And there was some money at odds for both KELLYVILLE FLYER and FOREIGN PRINCE.
The review of each race is provided below (note: no yard notes today).

3 | Legerity | Clare Cunningham | Koby Jennings | 4 | 59.0 |
In The Running
LEGERITY jumped the best clearly and took the lead from ORLEANS on the outside. PALLADIAN was wide no cover. HENRY THE CREATETH in the box seat.
The Result
LEGERITY (1st) travelled well into the straight but couldn't kick clear in the mud, getting run down in a close finish by HENRY THE CREATETH (2nd) and BRULEE (3rd).
The Interest
HENRY THE CREATETH gave us a signal he was a decent horse on debut when his last 100m was strong at Wyong. He did the same again here, barely keeping touch with LEGERITY on the turn under riding, before showing his strength and final surge late. Michael Freedman's (brother of Lee, Anthony and Richard) first winner on his new home track. BRULEE also good, but the time was slow. Be careful with this form moving forward and don't dismiss PALLADIAN (6th by 16.7L), who's a powerful son of Northern Meteor that was always going to struggle. No Follows or Forgives.

In The Running
They got going from the start, NOBLE JOEY speeding to the front from THOSBORNE out three wide urged along. That left NUDIERUDIE in an awkward spot between runners in 3rd with POSITIVE CHARGE on the fence in the box seat. RAVI and LAST WITNESS (slow start) got way back. A STRONG tempo was set up.
The Result
NOBLE JOEY (2nd) battled on, but RAVI (1st) stormed home over the top of tiring horses with LAST WITNESS (3rd) making up some ground too. NUDIERUDIE (4th) wasn't far off with a gap back to 5th.
The Interest
This was a real test in the mud. NOBLE JOEY is an 1100m horse and he didn't hang around, setting up a strong speed that helped the horses back in the field. The fact that he hung on for 2nd suggests he is a real mudlark (follow next time in the wet!). RAVI impressed with a booming finish in conditions that may have not suited and NUDIERUDIE was another good run. RAVI with a touch of quality about her that could see the daughter of Redoute's Choice progress to black-type company soon. [WIDE ACCLAIM vet: laceration to the near-fore cannon]. Follow NOBLE JOEY (in the wet), RAVI and NUDIERUDIE.

In The Running
PURE CHOICE came across from the outside and got going at a STRONG tempo. STRATUM'S SIREN, KING'S OFFICER, FALCO and EMERALD ICE got way back. DYLAN'S DYNASTY worked up outside the rolling leader mid-race.
The Result
KING'S OFFICER (1st) came wider on the track and stormed home from ATTAINMENT (2nd) and BALAMETALICA (3rd). who was cruising on the turn and had to come to the inside to make his run.
The Interest
This was a demolition job from the lean tough KING'S OFFICER. He lacks the power and turn-of-foot to win on drier ground, but today was simply about sustaining your run in the wet conditions after a strong speed was set up. His sectionals throughout the race hardly changed, only tiring slightly to post 12.28 seconds for the last 200m clearly ahead of the next best ATTAINMENT at 12.73 (about 3.5 to 4 lengths slower). BALAMETALICA was the one up near the speed that stuck on OK. Forgive DYLAN'S DYNASTY after he had to do too much work and fav' STRATUM'S SIREN, who slipped in the mounting yard and was guided up the inside rail (slower ground). Follow KING'S OFFICER (in the wet). Forgive DYLAN'S DYNASTY and STRATUM'S SIREN.

2 | Inz'n'out | Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou | Adam Hyeronimus | 8 | 57.0
3 | River Lad | Kris Lees | Andrew Adkins | 3 | 61.0 |
In The Running
INZ'N'OUT took up the running after crossing MARENOSTRO with OFFICE BEARER and RIVER LAD behind them.
The Result
INZ'N'OUT (2nd) and MARENOSTRO (1st) came wider on the track and knuckled down to a fight, MARENOSTRO proving to be too strong late. RIVER LAD (3rd) fought on OK just behind them to edge out OFFICE BEARER (4th).
The Interest
Two in-form horses that were simply too good for the rest. INZ'N'OUT is very reliable and can quicken in his races, it's often the last 100m that sees him end up in the placings instead of in the winner's stall. That proved to be the case again and perhaps no surprise given he was stepping up to 1400m against a very strong winner. That's 2 from 2 this prep now for MARENOSTRO, a horse that has developed and strengthened up in recent seasons. RIVER LAD and OFFICER BEARER were both OK. Follow MARENOSTRO and INZ'N'OUT.

3 | Trois Choix | Joseph Pride | Jay Ford | 6 | 58.0 |
In The Running
DYNAMIC ROCK led at a STEADY tempo early from TROIS CHOIX and KELLYVILLE FLYER moved up on the outside. They picked up the speed from about 900m out.
The Result
KELLYVILLE FLYER (1st) moved up and sustained her run best to win clearly on the line from HARLEM LADY (2nd), who sprinted the best out very wide on the track. TROIS CHOIX (3rd) edged out PINDAN PEARL (4th) in a bunched finish behind the winner.
The Interest
The race panned out nicely for the solid 6yo KELLYVILLER FLYER who had only been on a heavy track once before today, showing enough to suggest she would enjoy it (4th at $26 after a 38 week spell). The win made it 3 for young Koby Jennings. There were a few good runs in the race though, including HARLEM LADY, who ended up on the strip used by ambulances out on the outside rail! No knock on most, PIAMIMI (5th) didn't get much room late and LIKE XENA (6th) doesn't find her best at Rosehill. There was only 3.9L back to SWIFT LADY in 7th. [CAMPANIA vet: thumps] No Follows or Forgives.

2 | More Than Fabulous | David Payne | Ms Deanne Panya | 7 | 54.0
3 | Triple Snitz | Shane Bottomley | James Innes Jnr | 10 | 58.5 |
In The Running
Early pressure made sure this was a very STRONG tempo. ROGUISH pushed on to take up the lead from CLASSIC UNIFORM with SUPPLY AND DEMAND getting the trail behind. MORE THAN FABULOUS travelled nicely just behind them. SO WILLIE was slow and got right back.
The Result
SO WILLIE (1st) surged through on the inside of the pack and edged wider late, proving too good for MORE THAN FABULOUS (2nd) late, who had moved up quickly. CLASSIC UNIFORM (3rd DH) stuck on and TRIPLE SNITZ (3rd DH) fought on from midfield, just ahead of the pack.
The Interest
Well-backed fav' ROGUISH was given no chance by an overzealous apprentice ANDREW ADKINS who sent them along at a rapid speed. He was a question at the distance too, so ripping along at sectionals of 10.89 and 11.02 early made sure there was nothing left in the tank late (tired to finish 10th). It was the effort of CLASSIC UNIFORM that had to be admired after getting involved in the early speed battle. A slow jump helped SO WILLIE get into the right spot and he showed how genuine he is. 4 winners on the day for young Koby! Follow CLASSIC UNIFORM.

In The Running
SEBRINA went to the lead and rolled along at a pretty STRONG tempo from METALLIC CROWN, KONTIKI DANE and LIFE OF REILLY out a touch wider. FIGTREE was back in the pack urged along. ROCK MYLADY was slow early and got well back.
The Result
SEBRINA (1st) simply surged clear by a widening margin down near the inside rails from METALLIC CROWN (2nd) and CONSIGN (3rd) out wider.
The Interest
When the third-favourite FIGTREE (found the testing 1500m too far?) and second-favourite ROCKY MYLADY (not a reliable horse) disappoint, you end up with margins like this in the mud. SEBRINA was taken to the lead and never in doubt after an aggressive ride. She relished the conditions! Questionable form on some of the horses behind. Treat this race with caution moving forward. Follow SEBRINA.
Race 8 THOMSON REUTERS TAX & ACCOUNTING HANDICAP

2 | Berry Delicious | Jason Coyle | Ms Kathy O'Hara | 7 | 54.0
3 | Loophole | Chris Waller | Tye Angland | 2 | 57.0 |
In The Running
FOREIGN PRINCE rolled to the front from GOLDSTREAM and HIGH MIDNIGHT behind. LOOPHOLE got the box seat and BERRY DELICIOUS was in midfield.
The Result
FOREIGN PRINCE (1st) held off BERRY DELICIOUS (2nd), who sprinted up out wider before her run ended. LOOPHOLE (3rd) stuck on nearer the inside.
The Interest
This was a hard race to pick on paper, but someone had confidence, FOREIGN PRINCE well-backed and scoring the prize. BERRY DELICIOUS is a noted mudlark and just couldn't sustain her run to score after looming up to win. LOOPHOLE solid and the fav' HIGH MIDNIGHT just OK in 6th. He's not an easy one to figure out for trainer James Cummings with fresh runs around the 1400m or 1500m a possible path for him in the future even though he is bred to stay (..and looks like a stayer too!). He did bleed from one nostril though is is worth another chance. Follow BERRY DELICIOUS (back in distance). Forgive HIGH MIDNIGHT.

In The Running
As expected FREEZE THE CHARGES rolled along at a STRONG tempo from ENCOSTANATI, PAINTE and FRILL SEEKING. There was a gap back to the rest.
The Result
PAINTE (2nd) hit the lead very early in the straight and started to waiver late, allowing GRANDE PUNTO (1st) to storm home and catch him. MAGICAL STANCE (3rd) ran on well too.
The Interest
Jay Ford tried to hold up PAINTE for as long as he could, but the horse was travelling too well and got left in-front 200m from home. Not an easy place to be when the leader had set such a strong tempo up-front. In the end he stopped late (..having a look around?) and GRANDE PUNTO stormed home. MAGICAL STANCE also made good ground and keep an eye on FRILL SEEKING (5th) too, she did well second-up. Poor ENCOSTANAT (13th beaten 26.4L) found the wrong race first-up [vet: respiratory distress]. Follow PAINTE, MAGICAL STANCE and FILL SEEKING.
