Yard to the Post - City Tattersals Club Day

Race Day: Royal Randwick on Saturday, 18 October 2014

Although the major spring action was south of the border, Royal Randwick again entertained a good crowd of 18,157 under sunny skies for City Tatts day to wind up the ATC spring carnival. What many race goers were hoping for was a star performance from one of the nations most up and coming sprinters in Deep Field, and the 4 year old bay did not disappoint, tearing away from his rivals in the Listed City Tatts Club Lightening Handicap over 1100m

Racing on the day generally favoured the on pacers, with only a handful making up much ground on the day. The City Tattersals Club Cup over 2406m which was taken out by one of Chris Waller's imports in Mulaquen defeating La Amistad and Disclaimer, with La Amistad to press onto Melbourne to gain a shot at the Melbourne Cup in just over two weeks time. Kuro made it four on the trot winning the Brian Crowley Stakes in impressive fashion and will also head to Melbourne.

The crowd had to wait until after the last to run to the TV monitors and watch the Caulfield Cup, and what a finish that was (refer to the Caulfield review). A race-by-race analysis of the day is provided from the mounting yard to the finish. The complete guide from your team at the track.
