Yard to the Post - Breeders Classic at Rosehill Gardens

Race Day: Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 07 February 2015

Close competitive racing between talented sprinters lit up Rosehill on a beautiful Summer afternoon. Scissor Kick and Catkins both carried the Number One saddle cloth and showed their class with fighting wins in the main events of the day.

Waller's powerhouse Delectation led into the straight in the Eskimo Prince for three-year-olds (Race 5), seeming like he had the race parcelled up. But as soon as Bowman reached for the whip he started to race greenly and the stylish Scissor Kick slid straight past (picture above).

Catkins had to overcome a resilient Lilliburlero, who had returned to the track in great order. Expect both races to produce reliable form as we head into the Autumn months.

A review of the day is provided from the yard to the post. The complete guide from your team at the track.

MARPLE MISS (1st) moved up and was strong to the line, from MANOEUVRING (2nd), who chased through nearer the inside. DUPE'EM (3rd) ran on nicely.

The Interest

This could be a nice form race. MARPLE MISS got into a good rhythm and was too classy, she is on the rise. DUPE'EM, MANOEUVRING and HERNE'S OAK were all good, and LADY MACAN made ground from last. Follow DUPE'EM, MARPLE MISS, HERNE'S OAK, MANOEUVRING and LADY MACAN.

The Interest

CENTRE PIVOT continued on his merry way. The stable is flying and so is he, a horse that is relishing his racing. BLACK JAG paraded very well and can win soon. GHOST PROTOCOL is going really nicely and just needs to find the right race. Perhaps ORIENTAL LADY can do better in a more suitable race too. Follow CENTRE PIVOT and BLACK JAG.

The Interest

They went bonkers in this race! The best four horses ended up in the finish, but tempo played it's part. ODYSSEY MOON and SERENADE did well to hang on. It was a special conditions race (Inglis horses only) so the form could be a risk. No follows or forgives.

The Interest

TALES OF GRIMM doesn't look like a sprinter and he took care of them with style. Impressive stuff! It's unbelievable how well this stable is going. TAHITIAN BLACK was good again and can win if he holds form. WOODBINE got a long way back for a horse that lacks a sprint. He was a risk. Follow TALES OF GRIMM.

The Result
