Some good 3YOs in this 1400m race. Early speed from RONSTAR, BALLER and perhaps IRISH SONGS (tempo: FAIR to STEADY). BALLER was so impressive last start over 1250m after a poor ride the start before, quickening to kick clear of the older horses for a big win. ZALATTE ran on the same day winning a strong maiden on debut, running a slightly slower time than BALLER, but hitting the line slightly harder (11.61 vs 11.70 final 200m). Tempo could make the different between then, a possible steadier speed on a firm Rosehill track perhaps favouring the muscular BALLER. REELEM IN RUBY a lighter type that perhaps won an easier race last start and needs to progress. IRISH SONGS and RONSTAR not far off the mark.
