Finishing the day with an interesting staying race, some horses progressing to bigger targets, some primed to run well here. Not much tempo on paper, HIYAAM capable of going forward with a couple of others for company. The tempo should be STEADY unless HIYAAM really roles along, which could really suit the one-paced mare, who has been out-sprinted in recent starts. EMPEROR'S WAY is the most obvious horse at the peak of his powers, poorly ridden last start after parading well, better back to a GOOD track and drawn nicely. ONE FOOT IN HEAVEN and CASTERTON both have the sprint to put themselves in the race (may peak late though and SOFT would have been better?), while JAAMEH and HIYAAM both have the class if they can find somewhere near their best second-up. BIG DUKE unlikely to get conditions so well suited this time. [updated 9:55am]
