Training Winx was a once-in-a-lifetime achievement for Waller and he may be nearing another one, training the entire field in a group-level race. He brings an incredible nine gallopers to the Premier's Cup this year, a pair from Matthew Smith and one from Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott the challengers. Early speed from Waterhouse's WOLFE along with COME PLAY WITH ME and perhaps MAWAANY MACHINE (tempo: FAIR to STEADY). WOLFE was strong on return over 1800m, but he has some weight-swings and a wet track to contend with so is no moral here. Other winning chances include WU GOK (loves the wet), CARZOFF and COME PLAY WITH ME, who has nice wet stats, but two of those wins were very narrow when odds-on in the market. SO YOU WIN around the mark if tempo is steady. SWEET THOMAS fair in the trials and is worth a look at in the yard (can stay). GREY LION the class runner that just needs to handle the conditions to go close too. A very open race and hard to bet with confidence. [updated 9:15am]
